UMJC Releases Statement on "That Jew Died For You"

In response to the controversial video "That Jew Died For You," released by Jews for Jesus to coincide with the Passover/Easter season and just before Holocaust Memorial Day, the UMJC Executive Committee released a statement expressing concerns that the video "diverts the emotional impact of the Holocaust in an effort to convey its own message" and "diminishes the uniqueness" of both the Holocaust and the sacrificial death of Yeshua.

MJ Coalition Condemns Church of Scotland Report

After the Church of Scotland's Church and Society Council removed and then reposted a revised version of their report “The inheritance of Abraham? A report on ‘the promised land,’” a coalition of major Messianic Jewish organizations have released a statement condemning the report as biased and unjust. In response to "The Inheritance of Abraham," a report issued by the Church and Society Council of the Church of Scotland, leaders of major Messianic Jewish organizations--the British Messianic Jewish Alliance (BMJA), the International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues (IAMCS), the International Messianic Jewish Alliance (IMJA), the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America (MJAA), and the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations (UMJC)--have issued an open letter criticizing the report for faulty interpretation of Scripture, mischaracterization of Zionism and Israel's history, invalidation of Scriptural prophecy, and disregard for principles of justice. FFOZ Launches New Television ProgramĀ

First Fruits of Zion, a Messianic Jewish ministry that focuses on Bible study and education, has launched a new television program via the world wide web. Called "First Fruits of Zion: A Promise of What is to Come," the show presents prophetic aspects of the gospel message from a Messianic Jewish perspective.

Currently episodes are being released weekly for viewing online at http://ffoz.tv.

New UMJC Statement of Faith

On July 19, delegates to the annual UMJC business meeting unanimously approved a new statement of faith. A sub-committee of the UMJC Theology Committee, chaired by former UMJC President Dan Juster, worked on the new statement for two years. Click here to read the full statement.
